Disease may cause high mortality rate in deer population in Southern Indiana

— Deer populations in Southern Indiana have been found to be infected with a viral ailment called Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease — commonly referred to as EHD, state officials say.
EHD has been found in 35 Indiana counties, including Clark. The disease has not been found in Floyd County, but officials say the list grows every day. Areas in Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania also have reported EHD-infected deer.
